In India, the situation of higher secondary education in rural areas is depressing. Lack of quality institutes with proper infrastructure is a major problem. Students from rural areas have to travel to bigger cities if at all they decide to pursue higher secondary education. Such decisions of moving into the urban areas is a big hindrance for rural students as they lack financial capacities and thus cannot afford to live in some urban centre away from home.

Search Foundation took the initiative to bring the best quality higher secondary education right to the doorstep of these rural students. Science has become highly important in all fields of life. And Korpana being a remote, tribal, Naxalite affected and educationally backward area was far from the mainstream. Nearly 100 village students had no access to science education in tehsil place of Korpana since independence. Looking at this big gap in the education system of the place, Search Foundation decided to open the first Science College in tehsil place of Korpana at affordable fees.

In 2016, we established Scholars Search Junior College to provide the students in the remote area of Korpana with an opportunity for higher secondary education. We have registered under the Education and Sports department of Government of Maharashtra, Wide GR. No. FSF-1016/Pra.Kra. 69/SM-2, Mantralay, Mumbai-32 dated 17 June 2016. We strive to make sure these rural students get a quality education in addition to conceptual learning and well-equipped infrastructure. 

Currently, we offer 11th and 12th science in the college.
